CHRISTIAN BROTHERS’ CLUB. The third annual meeting of the Christian Brothers Old Boys’ League Football Club was held m Mr H. Divers’s board Thursday evening. The president (Mr W. Lindsay) occupied the chair lh e adoption of the annual report and balance sheet was moved by the Chairman, who congratulated the playing members of both team s on their performances last season. Though they were not sue cessful in carrying off premiership honours both teams occupied the position of run-ners-up. The season started well, but °r’PiF the I: J ck of P la y’ n 8 areas some of .the juniors lost enthusiasm before the finish. The senior team had put up a good display during the season, but had . . *uck in the latter stages owing to injuries, and illness amongst the players The speaker expressed regret at the fact that the president (Bro. Higgins) had found it necessary to retire owing t---.il-health. The gold medal presented by Mr Lindsay for the most consistent player in training and on the field had been won by Mr J. O’Connor, and Mr Clancy’s medal for the similar player in the junior ranks was won by Mr A. Collins, M r E. M'Kewen’s medal for the most improved back had been won by Mr Marriott, and Mr Familton’s trophies for the most improved players in the senior and junior teams respectively had been secured by Messrs D. Bennetts and W. Woodhouse. The expenditure on jerseys had been un expectedly heavy, but still there was a satisfactory credit balance. The report and balance sheet were adopted. Quinn, W. Whitty, C. Walsh, A. Culling, D. Bennetts, J. Brennan, and F. Woodhouse ; delegates to the Otago Rugby Football League—Messrs W. Whitty and F. Turnbull. It was decided to open the season on the 24th instant. It was announced that a gold medal would again be presented by Mr Lindsay and trophies by Mr Familton on the same terms as last year. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr W. S. Clancy, who had filled the position of secretary since the formation of the club, and a similar compliment to lhe press concluded the proceedings.
