Humorous incidents connected with the changing of the times are numerous, but one of the best comes from up-country (states the Southland Times). It concerns an obstinate tiller of the soil who, point blank refused to put his clock on an hour when the clock was put forward an hour. There was rejoicing in his household last Saturday night in commemoration of the expiry of the summer time period, and the festivities ended with the father putting back bis watch and clocks to what he supposed to be natural time. His mortification when his slip was pointed out to him can better be imagined than described.
