Canterbury’s very respectable score of 305 on Friday had paved the way for a good attendance to-day, estimated at from 12,000 to 15,000, when the match against Australia was resumed. The takings for two days amounted to £593. Scores:—

FIRST GRADE MATCHES. CENTURIES TO KNIGHT AND 4 SHEPHERD. - Cricketers have been fortunate this season as far as the weather is concerned, and on Saturday they again took the field in bright sunshine. Grange and Carisbrook played at Carisbrook. Grange scoring 232. of which Knight contributed a bright 111. Carisbrook’s innings started in disastrous fashion, four wickets falling for seven runs, and when stumps were drawn only 36 bad been scored for the sam e number of wickets. Carisbrook’s bad start was due mainly to the excellent bowling of Alloo, who sent up 15 overs, 11 of which were maidens, for only nine runs and three wickets. The fact that six of the nine runs were scored off one hit made Alloo’s effort all the more praiseworthy. ALBION v. DUNEDIN. The following are the scores: — DUNEDIN. First Innings. N.
