By arrangement with New Zealand Perpetual Forests, an area of 3400 acres near Putaruru is to be set aside as a game sanctuary, although there will be no prohibition as affecting the fish in the streams that flow through that particular area . The locality (says the Auckland btar) is regarded as a suitable one for the purpose, as it is regularly patrolled, and game birds already liberated there have done well.
