THE PARTY NEAR THE GLACIER. One of the most successful Canterbury excursions that the Railway Department has ever run to Arthur’s Pass or Otira took place on Sunday week last. About 250 people travelled by the train, which went as far as Arthur's Pass. The object of the excursion was to enable people to visit the Bealey Glacier, between four and five miles from the Arthur’s Pass Station.
