One of the reasons why so many men are unemployed is that the freezing works are not operating fully (says the Christchurch Sun). The railings in of stock to the works appear to be light; very much lighter, indeed, than is usual at this time of the year. An explanation gXcn is that there is so much feed that many farmers are holding tho-'r lambs n«t P ‘- farmers, owing to the broken weather which has affected the feed, have not been able to “top off” their lambs.
