“ I don’t think your Bible knowledge is as accurate as your law,” said Mr Justice MacGregor to counsel in the NewPlymouth Supreme Court, when the latter was saying that he did not want to follow the example of the Pharisees in throwing stones at other people (says a Taranaki exchange). Counsel replied that possibly his knowledge was not what it oncht to lie. and amidst general laughter he admitted that he could not give Honor chapter and verse for the reference. An informative talk on his personal experiences in America was given by Rotarian R.. Campbell Begg, of Wellington, at the weekly luncheon of the Masterton Rotary Club (says the M’airarapa Age). Mr Begg chatted freely on the i'ner side of life in the States, and punctuated his observations with many amusing anecdotes. There was certainly no hostile feeling in America towards Great Bi itain, he observed. The great majority of the people were not much interested in foreign affairs.
