THE WEEK’S NEWS. DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. Friday Afternoon. For quietness the past six days on the Stock Exchange have eclipsed all previous •weekly periods. The amount of business done has been almost negligible On ’Change there has been only one sale, and four transactions have been reported. In all Sections the market is dead Bank of New South Wales are not in demand, sellers asking £45 7s 6d. A sale of Bank of New Zealands at s?s fed was reported early in the week, and the present quotations are threepence on either side of that price Commercials are slightly better with a Buyer at 27s 9d, but no sellers. There is a difference of only sixpence between the quotations for National Bank of New Zealands, which are wanted at £b 15s 6d. , . ± , Unions, of which there is to be a new issue of one in seven, are on oiler at £l5 3s 6d without a buyer. N.Z. Breweries have advanced in value, and buyers will now give 425. Sellers re quire 43s 9d. Debentures are still wanted at 23s 6d. For National Insurances buyers are otter£ng 775. New Zealands are wanted at 39s 3d compared with 3Ss 9d last week. South British have a buyer at 575, and Standards are in demand at 60s. Huddart. Barkers (ordinary issue) are not in demand at present, but up to 48s has been offered. The preference issue has a buyer at 20s 9d, and a seller at 21s 4d. P. and O. Deferred Stock can be obtained at £2B's, but there is no immediate inquiry. The best offer for Westport Coals, which are still on offer at 33s 9d, is 335. The preference issue of Wcstport-Stock-jtons has improved, buyers offering 2s lOd. N.Z. Refrigeratings have eased. Buyers quote for the paid-up shares is 14s 6d, and for the contributing issue they are offering 6s 3d. Auckland Amusement Park ordinary shares have firmed, and Us Id is now offered. There has been a transaction at. Us 3d.

Ordinary D.l.C.’s are wanted at a premium of 8s 6d, and the preference shares have a buyer at 20s 9d. Inquiry for Dominion Rubbers has eased. Buyers’ best offer is 355, but sellers will not take less than 40s. A parcel of the old issue of N.Z. Drugs has been turned over at 645. Others are offered at 64s 6d. Inquiry for Wilsons has advanced to 34s 3d. Buyers are offering 8d for Kawaraus, compared with lOd last week. Sellers still ask Is. There is no demand for Molyneux Electrics, which are on offer at 19s. Offers of 24s 3d for Upper Nevis shares have failed to attract a seller at less than 25s 3d. 'There has been little change in Government Stock. Bonds and inscribed stock maturing in 1927 are wanted at £99 7s 6d. Saturday, Noon. Business in Bank of Now Zealands at 58s 6d was reported this morning. Commercial Banks were wanted at 28s, but sellers did not reply.
