“J heard several people complain that) they hadn’t had a fair go,” said Detective Tricklebank in the Wellington Magistrate’s Court the other day, in the course of the hearing of a case against the proprietors of the “rabbit game’’ at the Wellington Winter Show (remarks the Evening Post). “But you must have heard the same remark made by people returning from the races ?” queried Mr A. M. Cousins, counsel for several of the defendants. “Too right,” — was the detective's reply.— (Laughter.)
