INVENTIONS & APPLIANCES OF INTEREST TO AGRICULTURE.

COMBINATION HARROW AND SMOOTHING BLADE. This implement has, first, two sets of harrow teeth, then three sets of discs, and at the rear ait iron smoothing blade, which, from its weight, completes pulverisation of the soil and leaves a mulch. The

blade may be raised to horizontal, and used to stand on. With the blade and teeth raised the implement may be used to break the top crust when the grain is four or five inches high.

MILK-CAN TOP LOCK. The usual aligned openings in the neck of the can and the cover are used with this lock. The loop end is passed through the openings on one side and rivetted.

The locking point is withdrawn by compressing the coil spring, and is entered in the openings on the other side, thus securing the cover.

FEEDER. The basin here is held on the base at two sides by the uprights, and at the other sides by two spring clips. The jar is filled in upright position, the basin

placed over it, and the base inverted and placed over the basin. The whole is then turned, and the jar raised from the basin so that the fluid flows into the basin.

POTATO GRADER ATTACHMENT. A block is attached to the delivery platform of the grader. In this block is a spindle on which is pivoted a dividing tongue to direct the potatoes to one of

the sacks. Attached to the block and to the platform are the sackholders. Tho sacks are secured between the inner and outer frames of these holders.

NECK-WEIGHT RELIEVING ATTACHMENT.

The broad web part of this attachment lies over the horse’s withers, and is prevented fiom slipping back by a strap

joined to the hame strap. The loop straps lift the traces so that the latter pull horizontally on the collar and take tho weight off the horse’s neck.

DISC SHARPENER

This device mav be used while tho harrow is in operation, and is easily changed from one disc to another. Tho forked end of the lever is nlaced on

the axle, and the device secured by tha clamp which engages the frame. It may also be used to sharpen discs in a vise.
