“WHO RIDE?”
Oil, say, who comes io town to-day? That bugles sing and trumpets play? This is the earth's high holiday. Romance is here! Make way I Make way ! He comes to town to-day ! lie docs not guess, the quiet-eyed, -As lie goes by in his young pride, Who ride beside! Who ride beside 1 Who come to town to-day 1 But strain your eyes and you may know Their shining faces lifted so, Those dreamers out of long ago Who ride with him to-day 1 See—close behind the clear-eyed lad There’s Lancelot and Galahad And Arthur, all in silver clad— They come to town to-day I And smiling on the unafraid, Leading the joyous cavalcade. With flashing sword unsheathed, the Maid— She comes to town to-day ! All those who gaily fought and bled, I Whose young flesh makes the poppies red, Tn long, long lines of singing dead— They come to town to-dav • And, “ He is one of usthev cry, “ Who dared the sea, who dared the sky— Who dared his own wild dream to try I We follow him to-day!” —Stella Kobrin, in the New York Times.
