When the Dunedin Training College hockey team was on its way to its game in Christchurch last week a stray mongrel was captured by some of he team’s supporters and decorated with the Dunedin colours (says the Sun). The dog, which had been christened Marmaduke, leaped into immediate popularity, and apparently decided to join in the game. He followed the play all over the field, but, despite his colours, was quite impartial, obstructing both teams, the referee and the ball indiscriminately. He was eventually captured, and added his voice |o the cries of the supporters on the sideline.
