FIXTURESNew Zealand Championships (Hamilton). - September 2,3, 5,6, 7,8, 9, 10. NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. WELLINGTON, August 2. The monthly meeting of the New Zealand Golf Council was held on Monday. The Canterbury Agricultural College, the Eketahuna and the Takaka Golf Clubs were granted affiliation with the association, making the total number of clubs in the association 137. The Rotorua Club advised that its annual tournament dates were from September 13 to September 16. National handicaps were allotted to all amateurs who had applied and to the professionals, and certificates arc being sent out to club secretaries immediately. The Radio Broadcasting Company will broadcast by arrangement the results of the New Zealand championship games each evening. The Wanganui Golf Club applied for the New Zealand championships in 1928. and this will be discussed at the annual general meeting of delegates at Hamilton. The chairman is to write to Australia suggesting that the Australian Golf Council should, for the future, control the Kirk Wcndeyer Cup matches in Australia, and that it be asked to suggest details for the 1928 matches in New Zealand. THE DANNEVIRKE TOURNAMENT. DANNEVIRKE, August 6. . Ihe Dannevirke Golf Club tournament in which. 14 out of the 54 entries were under 3 in their handicap, was concluded this afternoon, J. Goss (Wanganui) meeting K. Tareha (Napier) in tho final of the Southern Hawke’s Bay championship. Goss at one stage was three up, but Tareha carried the match to last hole when Gos* won by one up. M. W. Hartgill, of Dan net n se, won the Dannevirke Handicap.

BALMACEWEN CLUB. The Balmacewen Club played the third round of its knock-out competition on the links on Saturday afternoon. The matches resulted as follow:—J. Spence beat G. II Whitcombo 5 and 4; E. Tamblyn beat G. Gallaway, 2 and 1; J. T. 'f’rewern beat J. R. Laidlaw, 4 and 2; S. Colbeck lieat R. B. Lambert, 3 and 2; J. P. Rutherford beat W. G. Wight. 4 and 2; G. C. Henderson beat J. R.
