STRATH TAIERI A. AND P. SOCIETY.
A meeting of the Strath Taieri A. and P. Society was held on the evening of July 23. A motion to alter the date of the show from Easter Monday to another date was defeated. A discussion took place as to the best ■way of perpetuating the memory of the late Mr W. Moynihan, who during his life had been a tower of strength to the society.—lt was decided to procure a shield valued at approximately 50 guineas, to be known as the “W. Moynihan Perpetual Challenge Shield.” The shield would be held each year by the persoa who gained the most points at the show in all sections. Steps were decided on to procure this memorial, and it was further agreed that a miniature cup. suitably inscribed, should be presented to the winner each year. A resolution was unanimously carried protesting against the passing of the Daylight Saving Bill.
