A sudden and unaccountable lapse of memory on the part of a well-known Timaru business man led him to buy a railway ticket for Christchurch, and to go there, by express, without realising whathe had done (says tho Herald). His first legalisation of the fact that he was not in Timaru came when he was struck by unfamiliar sights in Christchurch, and he immediately went to a telephone box in Cathedral square to allay any anxiety which his wife might be feeling bn account of his absence. Having done this, be returned by the next express to Timaru.
