No. 18. After their thrilling adventures in the Treasure Cave, they followed Inky Poo to his hut in the forest, where they spent the night. Tha nigger stood on guard at the door whilst his new friends slept soundly.) Next morning the captain and Inky Poo were palavering together, and the Chums learned that the black had suggested that they should try another way into the cave; so off they went. Going down a little valley, where large clusters of palm-trees were growing, there was a sudden hullabaloo up above tnem, and thq branches of the trees shook violently. ‘‘.Look out!" shouted Teddy, but his warning was too late —the captain had already got _a coco-nut, crack! on his head. A perfect shower of nuts followed, and Teddy himself was the next one to be hit.! ‘‘Three shies a penny!" gasped Golly, all out of breath through running. “ You soon got your coco-nut, Teddy!" Teddy got the captain to break one of the nuts, and the Chums had a refreshing drink of milk. “ How would you like to have your bumps read?” asked Golly, pointing to the lump which a falling coco-nut had made on Teddy’s head. But his chum only grunted!
