HOCKEY
TOUR OF AUSTRALIA.
SELECTORS APPOINTED. CHRISI’CHURCH, June 15. The New Zealand Hockey Association at a meeting to-night appointed Messrs G. Holland (Canterbury), R. Thompson (Wanganui), and L. C. Kent (Auckland) selectors of the New Zealand team to tour Australia. Mr Holland was appointed convener.
To assist the selectors Mr Thompson is to be requested to pick a team from the Wanganui, Feilding, Taranaki, Dannevirke. Wairarapa, and Hawke’s Bay districts to play Manawatu at Palmerston North on a date to be arranged. The Wellington . ssociation’s request for a match with the Nev Zealand team was agreed to, providing that suitable financial arrangements can be made.
ENGLAND DEFEATS NEW SOUTH WALES. SYDNEY. June 15. England defeated New South Wales by 7 goals to nil.
ENGLISH TEAM DEFEATS VICTORIA. MELBOURNE, June 13. The English ladies’ Hockey team defeated Victoria by 10 goals to nil.
ENGLAND DEFEATS AUSTRALIA. MELBOURNE, June 19. In the ladies’ hockey match England defeated Australia by 8 goals to 2.
