An amicable settlement has been reached in the dispute between the Gisborne Harbour Board and the New Zealand Shipping Company over tho salvage liner Northumberland. The board agreed to accept the company’s cheque for £Bl9l in full settlement of its claims, both on its own behalf and for its employees. The settlement wr.s reached as the result of the board Agreeing to withdraw its claim for £2OOO for time lost in the prosecution ofthe harbour works while the plant was diverted to the assistance of the Northumberland and for £7OO establishment charges,
