A large quantity’ of stolen property, •which has been missing for some weeks, has been located beneath the flooring of the Greymouth Town Hall. Recently there were three burglaries, £l4O worth of goods being taken from a house, £7O worth of carpets and rugs from a shop, and £2O worth of tools from a residence. There has also been a l ''number of minor burglaries. No arrest has yet been made. At one time a white hare was regarded as a novelty in Canterbury, but of late years the breed, which was found originally in the Waipara district, has increased to a considerable _ extent, and may now be located in . various parts of. the province. This information was triven to a representative of the Press the other day fcy Professor J. Speight, curator of the museum, when announcing that among the most recent acquisitions to the museum WM * white hare, sent in by Mr F. W. Cleev«, of Highbank..
