John Francis Holcombe, aged 26 years, who described himself as a motion picture director from Hollywood, appeared in the Auckland Police Court on Tuesday last for sentence on charges of obtaining £3O by issuing three valueless cheques, and was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment on each charge, the sentences to be concurrent, and two months for breach of probation granted at Wellington last year on false pretences charges.
