THE NEW HEBRIDES.
DISABILITIES OF BRITISH RESIDENTS. WELLINGTON, March I. According to present arrangements the commission which is to inquire into the disabilities, of British residents in the New Hebrides and other matters arising out of the condominium will meet at Vila ' on April sto take evidence. The report when completed will be forwarded-to London. Sir Eyre Hutson, Governor of Fiji and High Commissioner of the Western Pacific, who, by virtue of the latter office, exercises British jurisdiction in the New Hebrides, will be chairma- of the commission, the other members being Major-general Sir George Richardson, Administrator of the Mandated Territory of Samoa, and Major-general T. Griffiths, Administrator of Nauru Island. Sir George Richardson»will leave Samoa during the latter end of this month for Suva, and during his absence his duties will devolve upon Colonel J. Hutchen. The members of the commission and their staff will leave Suva bn April 2 for Vila, New .Hebrides,_,and it is understood that they will travel in H.M.S. Diomede.
