The repeating apparatus to be used in connection with the telephone system between the North and South Islands is being installed at each end of the cable, Wellington and Seddon, Marlborough. The purpose of the apparatus is. to amplify speech and ensure distinct hearing over long distances. It is expected that the system will be in full working order by June.
