THE APPLE MARKET, The secretary of the Otago Provincial Fruitgrowers’ Council (Ltd.) advises that the High Commissioner’s cable advice on the London fruit market for the week ended February 26 is as follows:—Apples.—Little better demand for American. Current prices for Newton Pippin 14s to 15s per box and Stayman’s Winesap 13s to 14s. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. SYDNEY, March 3. Wheat, 4s sjd at country stations, equal to 5s Id ex truck, at Sydney. Flour, £ll 10s to £l2 ss. Oats: Tasmanian ■ white Giants, 4s, Algerian, 3s 9d. Maize, 8a Potatoes: Tasmanian, £ll to £l2; Victorian, £lO 10s. Onions, £6 to £7. ADELAIDE, March 3. Wheat: Growers’ lots, 4s to ss; parcels. 4s IJd. Oats, 2s 4d to 2s 6d. MELBOURNE, March, 3. Hides were strong, and the previous values were readilv forthcoming. THE BRADFORD MARKET. LONDON, February 28. Bradford spinners report slightly better business but they are unable to operate in tops on to-day’s basis. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, March 1. At the wool sales, under keen competition, the market ruled very firm. Values for all descriptions were well maintained, with a tendency in sellers’ favour. Finer qualities in particular were in strong request. Greasy merino sold to 33;Jd. March 2. A strong market ruled to-day for all de'scriptions at the best point of the week. Competition was keen from all sections of buyers and comebacks and crossbreds continued to sell exceptionally well. Greasy merino sold to 35id. . March 3. Under animated competition the market ruled very firm at full late rates for all descriptions. Greasy merino fleece sold to 402 d.
