BETTER FOOTING DESIRED. WELLINGTON, February 17 Tlr V c W st “} at , accountancy classes in the Wellington Technical College should be placed on a better footing was made to the Hon. R. A Wright to-day by a deputation from the Chamber of Commerce the Society of Accountants, and the Insurance Shipping, and Bankers’ Guilds. It was stated that for’ some reason there was no chair of commerce at Wellington College The Technical School, therefore, was called on to do the work of providing commercial training Good tutors wore essential to this end, and higher fees should therefore be charged. An increased grant from the department to the school was also asked. Mr Wright agreed- that the charges were too low. He was glad to hear that the Chamber of Commerce was prepared to assist, financially. He would go careSuUy Mito the whole matter.
