No. 12. TUG-OF-WAR. << muscle, said Teddy, bending his arm. sniggered Golly, “ that’s more like a cockle!” Anyway, boasted his chum, “ I’m stronger than you are, and prove n. Lets have a tug-of-war, and the one who pulls the other eveis the stronger. So they got a long thick piece of rope, and each took an end, and digging their heels well m the ground they began to pull First, Golly got the advantage, and Teddy began to give way, but with a great effort he tugged Golly oft his balance. Then there was a struggle, but all of a sudden Golly tripped up and both the chums went sprawling in he dust. ’ In a sportsmanlike way the loser shook hands with the winner and they continued the best of friends. ’ ‘ * “ What do you say if we climb trees?” said Teddy “Trees?” replied Golly. “ Why not mountains So tney went off to find some.
