A swarm of bees found a resting-place inside a bowser pump outside a garage in New North road. Kingsland, the other afternoon (states the New Zealand Herald)'. Between noon and 1 o'clock the garage proprietor noticed a few bees, flying.in and out through six holes about Jan in dia-.; meter at the base, of the circular portion, at the top of the pump. . Half-ari-hoirf later, he saw them swarming round the opening and turned the hose on them, but, this had no effect. . After several other futile attempts he decided to give the bees an opportunity to make a voluntary departure during'the evening.
