The fifGeth nnni’-ersarv of the RaneUjkei County Council was celebrated on Thursday bv a large gathering of councillors, ex-chairmen, and ex-members. The partv included the Hon. F,. Newman and Messrs W. S. Glenn, M.P., and Air F F Hockly, M.P.. and Mr C; M. Galnin. a nmneer. who settled in the Rangitikei in 1858. An interesting historical sketch' of ftp county’s history was read bv Mr H. H. Richardson, who hafe been jflerk for 34 years, showing the remarkable progress of what is now claimed io be the most important county, in the Dominion.
