JOCKEY JIM.
Ruth Hertslet.
By
(Illustrated by Dumble.) (Copyright.—-For the Witness.) Sandy was getting a little old, but he showed no signs of stillness in his joints, and could outpace most of the younger ponies. Rounded of limb was Sandy, with a compact little body, and legs as straight and clean as a" thoroughbred. His tail and mane were long, and his well-shaped head showed signs of intelligence. Intelligent Sandy certainly was, and he had learned a great deal in his 14 years. Many and many were the girls and boys he had taught to ride, but never had he loved a boy as he loved Jimmy.
