AUCKLAND, January 25 Next-Sunday afternoon the solemn blessing and opening of the first New Zealand convent and school under the charge of the Maiist Sisters takes place at Mountain \ road, Mount. Albert. I" The Marist Fathers arrived in New Zea- / land 90 years ago, and they were the first Catholic priests to come to this' country, f carrying on their work froiii the North, f Cape to Bluff. ' The Marist Brothers did not arrive until 50 years ago, when they ? came ’ at the invitation of the Maiist : Fathers. Hitherto the two religious ; orders of women connected with'the Society \ of Mary have not had a foundation in New / Zealand.
