“OLD MOORE” READS HIS CRYSTAL.

Mussolini appears as the bugbear of “Old Moore’s” predictions for 1927. According to the star-gazer, the Fascist Dictator looms large around the warlike planet Mars. He will stir up trouble in Jugoslavia and involve the world in strife over the Mediterranean. “Old Moore” is in anything but a cheerful vein regarding the coming year, states the Daily Guardian’s—special London representative. He sees the British Empire in constant danger of foreign wars and Red rebellion, and even predicts Communist trouble in Australia within a few’ weeks. Here is a list of the burdens “Old Moore” would place on the shoulders of Father Time’s youngest child: — January—Astral signs denote a smallpox scourge and a series of Communist agitations. February—Communists will stir-np trouble in France and Australia. Indications are that conditions will be most disturbing, particularly in Russia and the east of Australia. March—Tire British Government will be in a bad way this month through the danger of foreign wars. America will have trouble in the west. April—Threats of foreign wars continue, and foreigi; relations are insecure. Many deaths by water are indicated.

May-Many plots afoot in England, and sedition threatens the existence of the Government. Germany w’ill show a warlike spirit, and Italy will adopt a belligerent attitude. June —Sedition will raise its head in India and Mesopotamia. July—Uranus and Jupiter signal the institution of reforms throughout the British Dominions, but these will be accompanied by Red rioting. August—Greater political optimism will prevail in the public mind. Severe earthquakes will be experienced in various parts of the world. September—The conjunction of Mars and Mercury will excite both Japan and Austria, and both countries will talk war—Japan in the Pacific, and Austria against Italy. Russia will menace England. October—British authority will be challenged in the Near East, "while at home it is likely the Crown forces will come into collision with the Reds. November—Ware will be widespread, and there will be an outbreak of plague. It is probable there will be a General Election in Britain. December —War fever will rise to a great pitch, culminating in Armageddon. There are grave forebodings throughout the Empire. ' Nothing is said about a Happy Christ-, mas.

Not wanting to appear too pessimistic, “Old Moore” has omitted to mention that a 100 to 1 chance will win the Melbourne Cup, and that the favourite will fail in the A.J.C. Hurdles.
