TEACHERS’ SUMMER SCHOOL

THE CAMBRIDGE GATHERING. CAMBRIDGE. January 21. At a business meeting of the teachers attending the Summer School, after a keen discussion, the following resolutions were passed: — 1. That the Summer School movement should continue on the same broad lines, and with the same cultural objectives as have characterised the Cambridge meetings. 2. That the Summer School movement should be developed as a dominion, as opposed to insular, organisation. 3. That the next meeting be held at the most convenient centre in the South Island as an experimental venture to test the possibility and advisability of a national organisation. 4. That the general executive be empowered to select the location for next year’s school, and establish a local organisation. Mr F. Milner (Oamaru) was re-elected president, Mr Duncan Rae (Auckland) vicepresident ; Executive Committee—Miss Hume and Messrs Johnston and Walker. The school, which closes to-morrow, has been an unqualified success. Motor trips to Horahora and Arapuni were greatly enjoyed. ~
