The Union Company’s steamer Kaitangata was recently damaged by a bolt projecting from the wharf at Auckland, admitting water to a hold containing flour. The Harbour Board's solicitor advised that the board was liable, and the chairman authorised salvage and sale of the flour, which realised £l7 10s per ton. Tho board approved of the chairman’s action.
