A MISSING BANKRUPT.
LAMENTING CREDITORS. A meeting of creditors in the estate of Katie Theresa Dwyer, also known as Katie Theresa Dyer, formerly a boarding-house keeper at Greencliffs. The following are the proofs of debts filed Evening Star Company £9 11s, W. F. Forrester £ls 0s 6d, D.I.C. £sl 0s 4d, Wm. Nees and Sons (Ltd.) £59 10s, Aspinnll and Sim £1 6s Bd, Otago Daily Times and Witness Co. £l4 78 6d, Barton and Trengrove £l9 Is Bd, Rae £9 9s Bd, Commercial Agency and Labou/ Bureau 12s. There was no appearance of the bankrupt. The Official Assignee said that the bankrupt appeared to have leased a boardinghouse at St. Clair from a Miss Fraser, from whom she hired the furniture on the hire purchase agreement. Shortly after entering into this arrangement she wanted more goods for the house, and obtained credit, and ultimately it appeared she sold everything not included in the hire purchase agreement. She obtained the money from the auctioneers. She had a son-in-law named Lamont who was working with her. He came from Australia, and it would appear that he had gone back there. The bankrupt, it was understood, had some property either in Hamilton or Rotorua, and there appeared to have been some litigation over it, but from information he had obtained he did not think there was anything in it for the creditors. He questioned if anyone here knew positively where the bankrupt had gone to. If he knew where she was he would have a warrant issued for her arrrest. In answer to Mr Nees, the Official Assignee said the proved <M)ts, so far, totalled £IOO. Mr W. F. Forrester said rtie bankrupt left Dunedin early in April, proLably on April 13. The Official Assignee said he would endeavour to find out the name of the firm of auctioneers who had sold the furniture. He thought the only course was to adjourn the meeting sine die and when he had obtained additional information ho would call u further meeting, pf creditors. On Ibe motion cf Mr Forrester this course was agreed to, and the meeting adjourned.
