So far as weather was concerned August, tho first of the spring months, was a particularly disagreeable period (says the Southland Daily News). Citizens were reminded of the old song: “The Rain it Raineth Every Day/' At least on 24 days there was rain, varying from .02in to .85in, the total for the month being 5.43 in. A few light frosts were experienced, and a little wind. The majority of days were comparatively mild, the rain being steady and inclining to warmness.
