AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE BILL
VIEWS OF CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
PALMERSTON N„ September 3. A special meeting of the chamber or commerce discussed the position that had arisen in Parliament in opposition to the Agricultural College Bill. The chamber passed the following resolutions: — 1. “This meeting is strongly of the opinion that it is absolutely necessary, that no delay should take place in establishing the agricultural college as set out by the proposed Government Bill, following the advice contained in Sir Frank Heath’s valuable report, such being strongly supported by all representatives farmers on this coast.” 2. “That this meeting supports the contention of the Auckland University Council regarding Government representation on the board, in that it be reduced from five to three members.”
