ASTRONOMICAL NOTES FOR SEPTEMBER.
THE SUN. The sun’s path during the month of September will be in R.A. from 10.39.42 to 12.24.6, in declination from 8.28.5 north to 2.36.24 south, and in longitude from 158.16.50 to 186.33.46. The equinox occurs on the 23rd. THE MOON. The phases of the Moon will be as follow : New moon 7th 5.15 p.m. First quarter ... 15th 3.57 p.m. Full moon 22nd 9.49 a.m. Last quarter ... 29th 5.18 a.m. Apogee 7th 9.54 a.m. Perigee 21st 5.48 p.m. THE PLANETS. Mercury will be in R.A. from 9.40.32 to 12.55.45, and in declination from 14.59.41 north to 5.25.37 south. It will be in perihelion on the Ist, in conjunction with the Moon on the 6th, at its greatest Hel. Lat. north on the 11th, and in superior conjunction with the Sun on the 19th. Venus will be in R.A. from 9.20.41 to 11.37.41, and in declination from 16.22.54 to 3.59.16 north. It will be in conjunction with the Moon on the sth, and in perihelion on the 15th. Mars will be in R.A. from 2.51.6 to 3.10.42, and in declination from 13.22.8 to 15.15.18 north. It will bo in conjunction with the Moon on the 25th, and will be stationary on the 28th. Jupiter will be in R.A. from 21.31.33 to 21.21.42, and in declination from 15.51.10 to 16.36.37 south: It will be in. conjunction with the Moon on the 19th. Saturn will be in R.A. from 15.14.59 to 15.24.0, and in declination from 15.57.18 to 16.37.50 south. It will be in conjunction with the Moon on the 12th. Uranus will be in conjunction with the Moon on the 21st, and Neptune will be in conjunction with the Moon on the sth.
