LYTTELTON'S CRANESHIP.
ROUGH WEATHER ENCOUNTERED. GISBORNE, July 17. The Rapaki, tho Lyttelton Ilarbour Board’s floating crane, arrived at Gisborne this morning. Captain Mack made light of the discomforts of the voyage. The ship left Greenock in April and nas been steaming for 90 days. She came via Barbadoes, Colon, and Papeete. Heavy woather was experienced after leaving tho English coast. The vessel was driven 40 miles off her course, but proved exceptionally seaworthy. After leaving Papeete a stowaway wa» found on board. During last week’s gale the vessel was fighting for six days for steerage way. Only a few miles from Gisborne the food supplies were getting short, and the officers and crew were on short rations. TYie Rapaki’s supplies are being replenished here, and ahe will then sail for Lyttelton,
