The poultry entries 6howed a small decrease. but some very good birds were penned, a number of outside fanciers competing. There was a fine display of turnips, although this has not been considered a good season for roots. A few classes in vegetables produced large entries of excellent quality, and grain and grass seeds made a fair display. Favoured with fine weather the fifth annual Poultry and Produce Show, held at Heriot on Thursday last, was well attended. The entries were not quite up to expectations, particularly in garden produce and \egetables. Poultry entries were about the same as last year, and included some very good specimens. The kitchen produce Board was the strongest section m the show, and the quality excellent throughout. On the turnip table swedes were a good class, but the soft turnips did not cut well Grain and grass seeds attraoted fair entries, but there was nothing outstanding in quality. The secretaiy (Mr

G. Carter) proved himself a most capabl§ and courteous official. The following is the prize-list:— * POULTRY. White Leghorn (Utility). Cock. One entry—A. Roberts. . Hen. Four entries—A.
