At a meeting of the Wairarapa executive of the Farmers* Union to-day several speakers attacked the policy of the Meat Control Board, and mentioned aa omissions of the board its failure to open retail shops in London, to supply accurate weekly reports o! the retail prices, and

to appoint an arbitrator in cases of disputed gradings of meat. Mr Hugh Morrison, while defending the board for its activities on the producers' behalf, vigorously opposed control, and held that it would not be beneficial to the producers. He asserted that it was inevitable that the price of meat had to decline.
