The diver who was engaged on Thursday in salvaging the piles intended for the new woolshed wlmrf, Lake Wakatipu, reports a rather interesting discovery (states the Mail). On a ledge in 120 ft of water he found a mussel bed. not of any grea« extent out possibly one of many that may exist in the duDths of Lake Wakatipu. It is considered these mussels belong to what is known as the fresh water unionoid bivahe variety.
