SHOPLIFTER CAUGHT.
RECENTLY-DISCHARGED PRISONER. HAMILTON, July 5. After a period of reformative treatment at Waikeria, Arthur Robinion was discharged a few weeks ago with £9 in his possession. When his funds were exhausted he commenced shoplifting, and was subsequently caught red-handed. To-day, at the Hamilton Court, lie pleaded guilty to the theft of a pair of boots, a leather kit bag. and a quantity of chocolates. In sentencing the accused to two months’ imprisonment, the Magistrate said that business people must be protected from idle wasters who stole goods from shop fronts.
