ENORMOUS DAMAGE DONE. HEAVY LOSS OF LIFE. VIENNA, July 4 The downpour between the Alps and the Black Sea was the heaviest experienced for half a century. Enormous damage was done, with heavy loss of life and live stock. Railways were inundated, bridges were destroyed, scores of villages and towns were flooded, thousands of acres were submerged, and hundreds of people were drowned.
