This season the position had Improved appreciably, he said, compared with the preceding year. In a subsequent statement reviewing the position in regard to our primary industries, the Minister stated that there was a decrease in the value of dairy produce expdrted for the year ended March 31 compared with ths previous year of approximately £3,000,000. Of this sum £1,000,000 roughly speaking was due to tbe lower prices, and £1,000,000 to the increased stocks of butter and cheese held In store under the dairy control scheme. The dairy Industry showed a decline in the production of butterfat of 5.9 per cent. The decline had been on the butter manufacturing side of the Industry.
