WIRELESS RECEPTION.
WELLINGTON EXPERIMENTS. WELLINGTON, June 30. Mr H. S. Rose, of Seatoun, operating a six-valve modulating ultradyne receiving set, picked up KGO transmitting from the Hotel St. Francis, San Francisco, at 8.15 last evening. KGO operates on about 288 metres. It is interesting to know that Mr Rose operated with six stages of radio frequency, and with no audio. Mr Rose is at present testing his own patent invention, which is said to eliminate static and other nuisances, such as howling and squealing. When testing a seven-valve receiving set at the residence of Mr Leslie Jones, Lyall Bay, last Sunday night, the transmission from various stations in Australia was received with perfect clearness, and an absence of static and other interferences. Mr Rose was not using outside aerials tot the experiment!
