For the quarter ended June 30. Customs duties at Timaru amounted to £26,812 19s Id. and the total revenue to £30,654 5s Bd. The figures for the corresponding period last year were respectively £29,167 16s lid, and £33,406 Is Id. Included in the quaiterly returns are light dues £321 10s 3d. ■hingle royalties £39 12s 4d, meat levy £1251 8s 6a. dairy produce levy £Bl 12s 9a, and honey levy £2B 18s 9d Ah Wing pleaded guilty at the Auckland Police Court on Friday to having used a gold coin other than for currency purposes. Ten half-sovereigns forming a watch chain were taken from him by tne police on the eve of his departure on a trip to China. A nominal fine was inflicted, and an order made for the return of the chain to defendant.
