FLOODS IN EUROPE.
BELGRADE, July 3. Disastrous floods ravaged the low-lving districts. There were many victims. The Danube is higher than it has been for a century. ' Fifteen thousand men assisted the troops in an effort to save the harvest in the Batchka district, the mc«t fertile in the kingdom. DISASTER IN SALESIA. BERLIN, July 3. A terrific thunderoU n in the Gm.it Mountains in Silesia caused floods which ■wept away houses and bridges. The vil lagers were awakened by the rushing waters and fled in panic. Many were drowned while trying to rescue their cattle. FLOODS EXTEND TO HUNGARY. BELGRADE, July 4. Very serious floods *are reported from Bacska and Banat. the most fertile provinces of Hungary. Sixty thousand acres of the best wheat land are inundated.
