{ —' *— GIFT FROM MALAY STATES. LONDON, June 28. In the House of Commons, Mr L. S. 'Amery stated that the gift by the Federated Malay States towards the Singapore base would be spread over five years, and lie confirmed the Government's grateful acceptance of the offer. He paid a tribute to the fine spirit which had prompted it. A recent cablegram from Singapore intimated that the Government of the Federated Malay States intended providing £2,000,000 is a gift to the Imperial Government in connection with the construcMaa of the Singapore naval base.
