OHINEMURI LICENSES.
CELLARS BEING STOCKED. AUCKLAND, June 30. Although no -licenses have yet been granted to hotels in the Ohinemuri Licensing District, some of the owners are preparing for the day when the necessary permits to sell liquor will be issued to them, and in one or two cases cellars are already partly stocked. The opinion has generally been held that the restrictions in force during the period of No-License would still operate until the licenses were actually in force in the district. Some of the owners of the hotel premises—which are assured of licenses, and these include the incorporated companies—have decided—no doubt on reliable advice —that they are now entitled to have liquor intended for sale sent into the Ohinemuri area, and have taken delivery of the first consignments. They will thus be in a position to open their bars for business as soon as the Licensing Committee grants them licenses.
