A SUMNER TRAGEDY.
AN INFANT DROWNED. CHRISTCHURCH, May 30. The four-weeks-old son of a resident of Sumner named Robinsc.i was found dead by his 14-year-old brother this „ morning, and as the mother was not to be found in the house the father was informed, and he went to th*i beach in search of his wife. The tide was low, and he saw her in the water, and when he brought her out. she was conscious. When she had been removed to her home the police were informed, and detectives from the oily brought the body of the baby and also th* woman to Christchurch. Details aro meagrs. It is stated thzt the woman had been quiet and moro«e lately, and her manner was strange on Saturday night. Mr Robinson, her husband, is mnnairer of the hardware department of tho D.I.C.
