MR ZANE GRAY.
INVERCARGILL, May 27. The annual meeting of the Southland Acclimatisation Society, held to-night, was well attended and some important matters were discussed. An interesting report from Mr Theodore Hybbach, of the Malay {States, on his recent expedition to the West Coast Sounds in search of moose and wapiti was received. The retiring president. Mr John Oilkison, was re-elected for tne ensuing term. Advice was received that Mr Zane Gray would definitely visit Southland for at least a month on the occasion of his visit to New Zealand next year.
